Kelenna Azubuike (torn patella tendon) has yet to be cleared for basketball-related activities, according to Newsday.com.
Our View
It sounds like he may not be ready by the time the season starts, and may never be back to 100 percent effectiveness. Tabbed as a fantasy sleeper when he was dealt to New York, he'll have to first prove to be healthy before being worthy of drafting.

The News
According to the Associated Press, the Celtics have signed guard Delonte West.
Our View
West had a career-high 12.3 points per game the last time he was in Boston in 2006-07, but he'll struggle to make that kind of impact this time around. Plus, he's suspended for the first 10 games of the season.

Veteran small forward Darius Miles is expected to work out for the Spurs later this week, according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.

Williams to be focus of offense
National News Source:Fanball Fantasy Basketball News - Newsbreakers - August 31 12:50 PM CDT
The News
The Akron Beacon-Journal reports that Byron Scott expects Mo Williams to be a focus of the offense this season, as he was in his final years with the Bucks.
Our View
Williams was a strong fantasy option as he averaged more than 17 points and six assists in his last two seasons in Milwaukee. He'll dominate the ball more often with LeBron James out of the lineup, and while his three-pointers may decline, we expect the rest of his numbers to climb.

The News
The Sacramento Bee reports that trade discussions between the Nuggets and Kings regarding Carmelo Anthony are ongoing.
Our View
The Kings have nearly $20 million dollar in cap room and plenty of expendable assets. Samuel Dalembert would be quality insurance for the Nuggets and he holds a $12.2 million expiring contract. The Nuggets could also offer one of Jason Thompson or Carl Landry, as well as one of Francisco Garcia, Donte Greene, or Omri Casspi.

The News
The Sporting News reports that Rockets GM Daryl Morey said that Yao Ming will have his minutes limited this season and could also sit out portions of back-to-back games on the schedule.
Our View
Really no big surprise here. The signing of Brad Miller indicated that Ming would be heavily limited, particularly in the first half of the season. We wouldn't expect him to log 30 minutes in a game much before the playoffs. Before he injured his foot, he was i... Read More »

The News
Alan Hahn of Newsday tweets that the Knicks will probably start Ronny Turiaf at center this season.
Our View
This provides a big boost to Turiaf's value if it proves true. As a starter, he could be a top-five shot blocker. He's also a high field goal percentage player he can make a positive impact on rebounds, steals, and assists as well. Consider him a nice sleeper. This negatively affects the value of Anthony Randolph, as he would likely be moved to ... Read More »

The News
The Suns signed Dwayne Jones Monday, according to the Arizona Republic.

The News
The Heat signed rookie second-rounder Da'Sean Butler Monday, according to the Associated Press.
Our View
The rookie forward tore his ACL in the Final Four earlier this year, and he would have been a higher pick otherwise. He's not expected to make a large impact in Miami as a rookie, especially playing behind this roster as he recovers from the injury.
